Scan Types
There are two different scan types. Quick Scan is used whenever you want to
ensure there are no spyware or adware in your system. This scan is enough
in most cases. If you're an experienced user and you know which areas you
want to scan, then Custom Scan is for you. As an example, you may want to
scan only tracking cookies. In this case, Custom Scan is the best choice.
Scan Tools
If you run the program , you see a list of scan tools. Following is the list
of scan tools explained.
- Scan of running processes: This tool
will scan the currently running processes and will kill
any suspicious processes which belong to spyware. It is
highly recommended that you use Process Scanner in your
Custom Scan.
- Scan of system registry:
Registry Scanner is a fast tool to scan your
registry
for the presence
of all known spyware, adware, etc. It "knows" about
several thousand traces that spyware typically leave in the registry.
- Scan of system folder and known files:
This scanner will search for all known spyware files
in your system.
It is fast, compared to Disk Scanner,
however it cannot detect some malware that randomly changes
their location.
- Scan of tracking cookies:
This tool will find and remove tracking cookies that
were added to your system
when you were browsing the web.
Scanning
After you select the scan type, click Start Scan to begin
scan. It will take a few seconds for the scan to begin,
then it will run the scanner tools one
by one. If any problem is found you will be taken to the Problem List page,
where you can select which spyware you want to remove.
Removal
Click Check All to select all items for removal, or select some items, right
click them and select "Check Selected". Click "Remove Selected" or "Remove
All" button to clear them.
